Save the shop

Only have screen shots at the moment..will update as soon as I get the chance and will add the download for the map.
After numerous crashes and lost files and hard drives, It was time to build the new computer. YAYYY finally got a decent machine working, still need a good video card but for now my onboard video will do since it can handle any source game at the moment so there you have it a low budget quad core machine.

Ok so I decided to get back to some mapping, I re-did about 30 video tutorials on youtube, My mapping in Hammer has gotten much better and feel comfortable enough to restart my maps from scratch for 2 reasons...the first is the original compilation of SAVE THE SHOP had gotten corrupted badly. The second is I needed the refresher to get back in to the swing of things, also it had some design errors which I now know not to do HAHA. SO I recreated almost from scratch the first 4 buildings of the left side of the street of 29th ave and 31st street in Vernon BC.

For added eyecandy and fun factor I have created some custom breakables such as cigarettes, magazines, Rubic's cubes, Keyboards, mice, monitors and CPU's. I have re worked the glass sections of the buildings and they are working much better now!

I have to thank Google maps street view....for saving me the time and effort it would have taken for me to go down to the shop and take snap shot pics of all the textures and locations of various items...It's just awesome

Alpha 0.5 Greymap

This map currently has no designation name, I'm thinking of something like save the shop!!! The map is based on the local gaming LAN house AKA THE SHOP or the GAMESPOT that is located downtown in my town of Vernon, British Columbia. I started the map with the developers Grey tiles for all textures hence the name greymap.

I will periodically be updating Screen shots and new versions of the map with all textures and sounds in the RAR file and I will keep the current version active. This is work in progress documenting the versions and time lapse between updates for my personal data. Don't expect too much at this early stage of the map.

It currently has 3 flags but eventually it will be converted to a DEFEND style map for DOD source.
